Park and Garden Plants

Students in the Landscape and Ornamental Plants program are trained to work under the supervision of a landscape architect, handling tasks such as the design, maintenance, and repair of parks and gardens, as well as the cultivation, protection, and marketing of ornamental plants grown in these areas. Graduates receive the title of Landscape Technician. This training is provided through associate degree programs in Landscape and Ornamental Plants at university-affiliated vocational schools. DUTIES OF LANDSCAPE TECHNICIANS: They carry out the surveying and drafting of projects designed by landscape architects provide quantity take-off and pricing services for the creation of public green spaces, recreational areas, and sports facilities participate in the maintenance and repair of these areas supervise landscape-related construction activities and the installation of features such as ornamental pools prepare progress payment documentation for landscaping projects undertaken for public institutions and organizations manage or oversee the production, daily care, pest control, harvesting, and sales of all types of trees, shrubs, bushes, and annual or perennial plants used in landscaping and direct workers, monitor implementation, and track attendance and work hours during on-site operations. Landscape and ornamental plant technicians work in various locations and conditions depending on the specific stage of the project.
